How to replace the oven light?

In our daily life, we may encounter many problems, which are related to our household appliances or things that we use normally. Examples include repairing the refrigerator, repairing a leak from an overflowing tub with an old-style drain plug, cleaning the oven, or replacing the oven light.

Honestly, being an all-rounder is no big deal. Because everyone can learn to do it instead of waiting for someone to help us out. If the wait is worth it, then wait. However, if you and your family currently need to use an appliance and have a small problem, you can try to fix it yourself.

As a simple example, do you know how to replace an oven light?

I'm sure many of you know how to replace an oven light, but if you don't, check out the steps below, it might help you a little when you're desperate.

Step 1: Make sure the power is turned off

Before replacing the oven light, make sure the oven is not plugged in. The environment should be safe and not hurt yourself.

Step 2: Prepare the right bulbs for the oven

There are many lights for ovens, and you should choose the right one. It's best to check your oven's owner's manual for the bulb type, or you can find the specs printed on an old bulb. The right bulb is better.

Step 3: Remove the old bulb cover

Please locate the lamp cover first, and then determine whether the lamp cover is secured with a wire clip or metal ring. Then you need to loosen them before removing the caps.

Step 4: Replace the bulb

After you complete step 3, gently hold the old bulb, turn it counterclockwise to loosen and remove it from the socket. Next, carefully remove the new bulb from the packaging. Put the new bulb in the same place as the old one. There is no need to overtighten the bulb, so turn it clockwise to tighten it until you feel a slight resistance.

Just be aware that if your oven uses halogen bulbs, be aware that oils from your skin can damage new bulbs and shorten their lifespan. Therefore, handle the bulb with a paper towel or wear cotton gloves to keep your fingers away from the light.

Step 5: Test the Bulb

After replacing the oven light, cover the light cover first, then restore the oven power and turn it on. If the oven is still dark, there may be a problem with the bulb housing or socket. You may need to have it repaired by a professional.

These simple steps are just for your reference if this is the case. If your oven light is unique, replace the light according to the owner's manual or call a professional to have it repaired for you.
